About Tony

A local guide, happiest on the road

I’m Tony MacIver, a member of Clan MacIver, and I’ve been guiding since 2017. I started MacIver Tours & Transfers because I love driving, I love the Highlands, and nothing beats seeing people fall for Scotland.

My rule is simple: it’s your holiday. I’ll plan the day, tell the stories and find the quiet spots, but the pace is yours. On longer trips it feels like the family holidays I had with my Mum and Dad, and I want you to leave feeling the same.

I’ve been driving for 45 years and hold a clean licence. When I can’t guide you myself, one of our friendly guides will, with the same care and the same Mossy welcome.

Stories from the road

  • The Traitors at WyvisGuiding guests from the estate while the show was being filmed next door.
  • Harry Potter’s hidden gorgeThe unsigned woods at Black Rock, used in Goblet of Fire.
  • A clan chief in the back seatAn airport pickup that turned into an invitation to Dunvegan.
  • Hollywood in the CairngormsDriving the director of Mary Queen of Scots to a filming site where horses were airlifted up the hill.

Ask Tony for the full versions on the drive.

Our mascot

Mossy, the Highland cow

Mossy is the face of Highland Tony and comes along on every tour in spirit. Guests take home their own Mossy, with a little code on her front leg that brings you straight back here. If you found us by scanning Mossy, welcome! We hope she’s keeping you company.
